Terms of use

Last updated 21 October 2026

By using Orbit you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable — please read them.

Using Orbit

  • Student accounts are for people aged 13 and over.
  • Keep your password safe and don't share your account. Link codes are for your own parent or guardian only.
  • Don't try to access other people's accounts or data, to cheat the XP system, or to disrupt the service.
  • Parent accounts are for parents or guardians. Tutor accounts are for adults aged 18 or over, and tutors must only use what a student shares with them to help that student.
  • Be kind in study groups and in group chat. Don't share phone numbers, addresses, passwords, links or photos, and don't ask others to. Bullying, unkind behaviour or pretending to be someone else can lead to removal from a group or from Orbit. You can report anyone from their card.

Photos and avatars

If you add a photo, it must be a picture of you or a drawing you made. Never upload someone else's photo, or anything unkind, rude or unsafe. We may remove a picture that breaks this rule. Orbit does not scan pictures, so please tell the contact below if you see a problem.

Lessons and videos

Lessons are study aids written for Orbit. Many are still marked Draft, which means a teacher has not yet checked them, so check anything important against your textbook, your teacher and the official specification. Videos belong to their creators on YouTube and are shown with credit; Orbit does not own them.

Plans

Orbit has a free plan, with the limits shown on the Your plan page. Orbit Plus is planned to open 15 days after release; until then nothing can be bought and nothing is charged. If paid plans start, we will update these terms first, and a parent or adult must buy them for anyone under 18.

Exam information

Orbit uses Pearson's published specifications and exam timetable, but mistakes and changes can happen. Always confirm your exam dates, times and options with your school or exam centre. Orbit is not responsible for missed exams.

No guarantees

Orbit is a planning tool and is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and accurate but can't promise it will always be, or that using it will lead to a particular grade.

Trademarks

Orbit is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Pearson. Edexcel is a trademark of Pearson Education Limited.

Our responsibility

We take care of your data as described in the Privacy page. We are not liable for losses that come from using Orbit as a planning tool, such as a missed exam or a grade. This does not limit any rights you have by law.

Changes and ending your account

We may update these terms; the date above will change. You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other students at risk.
